Day 1 Tirana Airport –Kruja - Tirane
Departure scheduled flight to Tirana. Arrival at the airport “Mother Teresa”. Continue to Kruja, at medieval times was the capital of Albania. The city has strong Ottoman influence. In Kruja we will visit the old bazaar, the Ethnographic Museum the Castle of Skanderbeg our national hero. After, Kruja we continue towards Tirana. Dinner and overnight in Tirana.
Day 2 – Tirane – Elbasan –Ohrid
After breakfast, we continue the tour of TIRANA: Albania's capital , with its Mosche of the eighteenth century called “Haxhi Et’hem Bey”, the clock tower, the neoclassical ministries, etc.
Proceed to the city of Elbasan. Have a stop there visiting the Old Part of the town. Continue towards Macedonia. In the afternoon visit Ohrid which is notable for once having had 365 churches, one for each day of the year and has been referred to as a "Jerusalem (of the Balkans)". Visit the Old town and some of the most important Churches. Dinner and overnight in Ohrid
Day 3 Ohrid -Bitola , Ohrid Lynkestis Heraclea- Ohrid
After breakfast we travel to the City of Bitola " BITOLA " influence of Ottoman city known as "the city of consuls . Visit the Clock Tower , the Catholic Church. Then we continue to visit as the ' Ancient city of Heraclea Lynkestis situatied few kilometers from Bitola , founded by Philip II of Macedonia , father of Alexander the Great, which contains numerous monument like the Roman Bath , the theater, along a number of basilicas with very interesting basilicas. After the visit of Bitola , we go back to Ohrid. Dinner and overnight in Ohrid.
Day 4. Ohrid – Sveti Naum -Korca
Start this morning with a visit in the Saint Naum Monastery located on a high cliff above the Ohrid lake, in its southernmost point, on one locality with rare natural beauty. After this proceed back to Albania and arrive to the city of Korca situated in the southeastern Albania It stands on a plateau some 850 m above sea level, surrounded by the Morava Mountains. Visit the museum of Medieval Arts, the Orthodoca Cathedral . Dinner and overnight in Korca.
Day 5. Korca – Permet – Gjirokaster
After breakfast have a visit in the Tumulus of Kamenica. The site includes a museum dedicated to the prehistory of Albania and of the surrounding region.Drive on this day through one of the most scenic part of Southeastern Albania passing by Erseka, Leskovik and arrive in the city of Permet. In the afternoon arrive to Gjirokastra.Dinner and overnight in Gjirokastra .
Day 6. Gjirokaster – Blue Eye – Saranda
In the morning explore the old town of Gjirokastra were you will get impressed from the characteristic houses which resemble the towers and are build one above the other. They have only one common element, the stone. All the homes have the form of medieval towers. Visit the Ethnographic Museum which was the house of the former communist leader Enver Hoxha. Visit also to the ZEKATI House, a building of the 19th century. From here the most beautiful view of Gjirokastra can be enjoyed. After Gjirokastra continue to Blue Eye Spring , natural phenomenon occurring in Delvinë District. The source stands at an altitude of 152 m. Arrive to Saranda for dinner and overnight .
Day 7 Saranda – Butrinti – Saranda
One of the highlights of the trip will be a visit in Butrint Unesco Site. A scenic narrow road leads you to the ancient city of Butrint. Visit to the Old Amphitheatre, the Temple of Aesculapius, the Baptistery with colorful mosaics and the ancient city walls. An old fortress housing a small museum watches over the entire site, which is one of the last unspoiled natural and ancient historical areas in Mediterranean. Leisure time in Saranda . Dinner and overnight
Day 8 – Saranda – Vlora – Apollonia – Berat
Travel along the Albanian Riviera passing though the small coastal Village. Have a short stop in Llogara National park and proceed to Apollonia Archeological park . It is one of the most well known archaeological sites in the country. Visit the amphitheatre, and the courtyard of the Monastery where there is a Byzantine style church built in the 14th century. Here you can see some monuments like the Encircling Wall, the Monument of Agonotheteve, Odeon, Portic, the Mosaics House, Fontana, and the church of Saints Mary . As we leave Apollonia the last destination will be the Museum City of Berat . Overnight in Berat .
Day 9 – Berat – Durres – Tirane
In the morning explore Berat Unesco Site. Start from the Citadel where there are still families living inside nowadays. In the castle are found churches which have survived within its powerful stony walls. Visit the “Onufri” museum. Continue to the medieval part of the city where are found other objects as Lead Mosque, Bachelor’s Mosque, Gorica Bridge and many dwelling houses of the 18th and 19th centuries.
After leaving Berat make a stop at Cobo winery (http://www.cobowineryonline.com/our-wine.php ) which is property of the Cobo family. The owner of the house will explain to you how they produce the wine and you will have the possibility to try wine and raki produced by them.
The next destination with be in Durres city where is found the biggest Amphitheatre in the Balkan Peninsula (capacity 15.000 spectators) with a rare wall mosaic, which belongs to the 2nd century A.D. Proceed for dinner and overnight in Tirana.
Day 10 – Transfer to airport
